Appeal after motorcyclist dies following hit-and-run in Coventry

West Midlands Police have launched an investigation after gunshots were fired at a house in Coventry.

The police force were alerted to a shooting in Poole Road, Coundon at around 8:46 pm on Thursday night.

Fortunately no one was injured, but there was damage to at least one property.

Police believe a man on a motorbike is responsible for firing a gun at the property, before riding off at high speed.

Though investigations remain in early stages, detectives are urging anyone with information or who has dash-cam footage to contact West Midlands Police online or by calling 101 and quote crime reference number 20CV/285938D/20.

Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Police patrols have been stepped up in Coundon as a precaution, with a spokesperson for the police force saying the increased presence will continue into the weekend to reassure residents.
